The Argentine justice suspended the Law that enables Cooperatives to render IPTV services

The Argentine justice suspended the validity of Audiovisual Communication Services Law that will enable public services Cooperatives to enter the TV market. Such decision resulted from Deputy Enrique Thomas' denounce of irregularities in the norm approval. The Government was expected to appeal against the decision.

Tangente will render IPTV in October 2010

The Mexican CLEC Tangente will offer IPTV with VOD and PPV as from October this year once the telecommunications operator's license is approved. The company, which already offers Internet and telephony, is planning to reach 3.9 million clients over a five-year period. The idea is to offer Triple Play packages at the lowest possible cost of USD 40 and set-top-boxes at a cost of USD 100.
