C&W Panama launched TV with Motorola's HFC network

With an investment of USD 60 millions, Cable & Wireless Panama (C&W) launched digital TV under the brand +TV Digital. Motorola's business unit Home & Networks Mobility provided the HFC network "which enables the generation of a new more interactive, more flexible, more complete, more personal and accessible way of watching TV", Roberto Mendoza, Executive Director of C&W's Corporate Affairs, commented.

+TV Digital offers about 220 channels with international contents, movie, soprts and entertainment packages. "It enables HD, VOS, programming package administration and ultra Broadband D3", the company informed through a press release. C&W records 2.7 million clients in mobile telephony, 127.000 broadband users and 417.000 fixed telephony clients.

Panama records a 30% cable TV penetration. C&W competes with Cable Onda's, Conex Telecom's CATV, Sky?s DTH and CTV Telecom's IPTV.
